The Flying Publisher Guides

Summary

  • Over the past 20 years, Flying Publisher has published free books on influenza, SARS, HIV, and hepatitis/hepatology. The PDFs of these books were downloaded up to 100,000 times every year. The HIV textbook, published yearly from 1991 to 2008, sold more than 70,000 copies, and Hepatology 2010 is set to follow the same track. "Free" is exquisitely compatible with robust revenues.

The time has come to extend this model – free PDF + print copies for sale – on other medical topics. We will start with short medical and scientific guides. These guides, to be published by at least three authors, accomodate both writers and readers. For a team of experienced physicians and scientists, a 75-page guide is a manageable task; for the readers, 2-3 hours of reading will make a formidable difference, changing the perception of a topic from "My knowledge on that subject is rather limited" to "I have now a good overview of what's going on in this area".

We offer you our experience to guide you through the editorial process.
